X Country 2014
The X-country this year took a different route and feel as the venue was literally closer to home. Utilising the Park Connector, which is just at our doorstep, both students and staff had a day of fun and sweating it out, as they ran from Punggol Promenade all the way back to school, covering a distance of about 3.4km. The competition format is also different this year, with the competitive and fun runners, but the StaRs gave their all, displaying the SHINE values and gained points for their classes. Kudos to one and all for the effort in completing the event! Till X-Country 2015!
Sec 3 Adventure Camp 2014
This year, the annual 3D2N Secondary 3 Camp is held at MOE Jalan Bahtera Adventure Centre on 3 to 5 March. In a nutshell, the camp objectives of bonding as a class, working in teams and developing respect for one another despite differences were fulfilled and met. Students were better bonded with their fellow peers. Through this camp, the StaRs were made aware of the importance of leadership and team work and how leaders and followers complement each other within the group They had gone through a new outdoor experience which prove beneficial in the present as well as future.
Sec 1 Orientation
The first two days of school started with a blast of activities for our Secondary One StaRs through the Class Synergy Programme. The programme consists of varied activities, including Form Teacher Bonding and Year Head Talk. The highlight of the programme is the Secondary One Orientation specially organized by the Prefectorial Board.
Our Secondary One StaRs were comfortably inducted through ice-breakers, cheers, games and experiences shared by their seniors. The team bonding activities provided a natural platform for students to know one another better, forging friendships with new classmates.
The prefects guided and orientated their new juniors well, bringing them to the different parts of the school and sharing with them on rules and expectations.
The two days has helped our Secondary One StaRs transit well into a totally new environment, making them feel a sense of belonging right from the first day of school. Welcome to our SSS family!
